Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Itchwise is developed by Qingdao Ketai Software Co.,Ltd. (“we”). Contact: aiagentmem@gmail.com.

2. What the app records — and where it lives

• Skin diary data you enter: itch level, sleep impact, affected body areas, suspected triggers, medications, notes, and photos of affected skin.
• Weather snapshots: once per day the app may use your approximate location (with your permission) to fetch local weather (temperature, humidity, UV, pressure). Only the weather values are stored — your location itself is never saved or transmitted to us.
• Where it lives: everything above is stored on your device by default. Nothing is sent to us — we operate no servers.

3. Optional iCloud sync

If you enable iCloud sync in Settings, your data (including photos) is mirrored to your private iCloud database operated by Apple and protected by your Apple account. We have no technical ability to read it. Turning sync off stops mirroring; you can manage or delete iCloud data in iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud.

4. On-device processing only

All analysis happens on your device: trigger-association statistics, photo handling, and the ingredient-label text recognition (OCR). Photos and scans never leave your phone for processing.

5. Photos and face data

Photos you take or import in Itchwise are ordinary photographs of affected skin areas. If you choose “Face” as a body area, a photo may show facial skin. Itchwise does not collect or process face data: it performs no facial recognition, face detection, or facial-feature analysis, and it does not create face geometry, faceprints, or any biometric identifiers from your photos. Photos are used solely so you can visually compare your own skin over time. They are stored on your device — and, only if you enable iCloud sync, in your private iCloud database that we cannot access — and are retained until you delete the photo, the entry, or the app. They are never shared with us or with any third party. The optional App Lock uses Face ID / Touch ID through Apple’s LocalAuthentication framework: authentication happens entirely inside iOS, and the app receives only a success-or-failure result, never any face images or biometric data.

6. What we do NOT do

• No advertising, no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, no tracking across apps.
• No selling, renting, or sharing of your data — with anyone, ever.
• No accounts: the app works without registration.

7. Purchases

Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. Manage or cancel anytime in iOS Settings → Subscriptions.

8. Your controls

• Export: Settings → Your data → Export all data (CSV) — free, anytime.
• Delete: deleting the app removes all local data. If iCloud sync was on, also delete the app's data in iCloud settings.
• App lock: optional FaceID/passcode lock, free for everyone.

9. Health data

Your entries are health-related data. In line with App Store health-data rules (Guideline 5.1.3), this data is never used for advertising or shared with third parties. Itchwise is a tracking tool, not a medical device; it provides statistical associations, not medical conclusions.

Apple Health (HealthKit). Only if you grant permission, Itchwise reads a single value from Apple Health: your sleep duration for the previous night. It is used solely to pre-fill the “sleep impact” field in your diary so you don’t have to enter it by hand. This access is strictly read-only — Itchwise never writes any data to Apple Health. Sleep data read from Apple Health is kept only inside your own diary on your device (and, if you turn on iCloud sync, in your private iCloud that we cannot access); it is never used for advertising and is never shared with us or any third party. You can grant or revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices. Denying it does not affect any other feature of the app.

10. Children

Itchwise is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

11. Changes

If we materially change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date, and note the change in the app's release notes.
